This place is a bit pricey, but everything was great. They do technically have a kids' menu, but this is really better for a date night. Our waiter was amazing and let us customize our orders and the food was absolutely delicious. Love that they use local produce when possible. Would recommend this place to anyone! -

This is a late review, I went in a bit after 8pm on August 25th.
As a line cook myself, I usually don't like to go into restaurants within an hour of closing. However my friend was moving out of the country the following morning so I made an exception and I am glad I did.
My friend ordered the Duck Confit Carbonara and said it was one of the best meals he's had in a very long time. I had the Lamb shank, and it was perfect. Every bite I had was amazing.
What really set this place apart for me was the server we had. I believe his name was Eric, or Emrich? This guy was great, and very knowledgeable of the menu and the cooking process. We asked a few questions and he knew the answers without having to tun back into the kitchen to get an answer. I have been cooking for 6 years and at every restaurant I've worked in I have found myself having to explain the same menu items to the exact same wait staff multiple time a night for weeks and months. The Fact he knew what he was talking about really impressed me.
5 star food. 5 star service. This was my first time in Placerville. If I find myself back in town, I am definitely coming back, and hopefully have the same server. -

Once again another great dinner at the Smith Flat House. Service from our waiter Emerick and his support staff was nothing short of excellent, the mushroom bordelaise appetizer was a rich savory delight and our Tuscan chicken pizza was nothing short of delicious (in particular, the unique, ever so slightly tangy cheese used).
Safe to say, we will be returning soon! -

Amazingly delicious! Extremely well prepared and plated! Excellent service and high quality food! Also located in an old historic building. Definitely worth your money to eat here! Ate here last night with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you smith flat house for the meal!

This is the finest restaurant in the area! The selections of dishes to choose from- incredible. We had fish of the day, fresh Alaskan halibut and it was cooked to perfection. The entre came with delicious caramelized squash, perfectly cooked rice and exquisite carrot soup. This restaurant is a must if you like world class cuisine, ambiance, and friendly, efficient service. My meal was the finest I have ever had.
